Great actor. As others have said In the Heat of the Night is a brilliant film.
Shame, as I heard Ch4 had him lined up to play Catherine of Aragon in their next 'factual' period piece.

Likewise it was my mums favourite film back in time so always have fond memories of in the heat of the night. I think Rod Stieger got an oscar.

Given the way some posters crave links to young girls on here, it may be quite risky to mention "To Sir, with Love", but I found that an incredibly intense film, with the added bonus of outside shots of how the East End was back in the late 60s.

Poitier's timing in it was spot on.
